Section 1: Rationale

Over the last 7 units I have improve my acting ability more than I ever thought was possible. Let’s start with all the Opportunity I have this year, I have performed on 4 new stage that I have never performed on before. I had on chance to create my own script and work with the National theatre with connections and given the opportunity  to write a script and be revied by a NT script writer. I’ve also being given the chance to perform in many different way as well. the knowledge and understanding I got from this was firstly how to act like a professional actor at a venue ,understanding different type of theatre and theatre performances and finally learnt the many different type of auditions. What knew when I first start was only very little. I knew a little bit above the basics I would say. However what I have learnt is how to act in a serious role and what practitioners can help me with that. For example for my role as Chief in one flew over the cuckoo’s nest I can use Stanislavski methods like hot seat or emotional memory to help make my performance more realistic. Another skill I have been taught is the understanding of subtext which is again very helpful for a serious role. Some of my achievement that I’ve done this year is star in a film and becoming a leading role in a film. Becoming a leading in a musical and play and event organize a relax performance. These are just out of the many achievements made this year. Finally my project/ show for this term is One flew over the cuckoo’s nest

Section 2: Project concept

So our end of year show is going to be one flew over the cuckoo’s nest, the Concept/story of the show is a man named R.P McMurphy get sent to a mental institution that is ran by this horrible woman called Nurse Cratchit, the story is about his relationship with the other patients and how he basically stands up to nurse Cratchit. It is a funny and sad story at the same time because it does have a very sad ending. My aims for this project is to stretch myself as much as possible for any roles that I get because I never really played a serious role before so I want to make this my biggest acting challenge yet. The research I have done and need to-do so I can make my performance as best as possible is a few things. The stuff that I have done is I’ve watch and film and read both the book and film. I’ve done character research on what character interest me the most. The research that I need to do is whatever role I get I need to fully understand they condition and the subtext of the whole character. I want to knows the in and outs of what that character has been thought. I think that for time scale I need to fully understand my character within a few weeks I say from when I first get the role. 

Section 3: Evaluation 

 Explain how you will reflect on and evaluate your work as both an ongoing activity and at the conclusion of the project. You should describe how you intend to record your decision making, and how you will document changes to your ideas as the project progresses. The evaluation should reference your stated aims, and be reflective and analytical rather than a description of actions completed. When working in collaboration with others you should comment on how this may impact either positively or adversely, and explain the steps you might take to minimise disruption to your own progress

 Inderpented study Week 1  Subtext Mapping The character I have chosen to Matt.  o Create a subtext map for your character in one key scene. Scene 7 the Meadow  o Divide the scene into beats and write: § What the character says. Matt in this scene is very support and creative as when the rest of the group gives up on the idea to save the stump he is behind Jay in saving the stump. Thinking of ideas until Jay comes up with the idea of starting a protest.   § What the character really means. I think Matt in this scene felt betrayed by Clarke because in the script they seem like best friends and this really break there friendship.  Task 1  (A)  I think myself as an actor has learnt so much in the first year of training at the collage but I still think there are area that will need to be work on.  Lets start with my strengths, The first area I want to look at is acting through genres, I think my strong genres for my acting is Comedy because I am very good at understand where the jokes  and comedic timing  are. Like playing Captain Hook for example working with Smee in most of our scene playing off each other, Leading onto my next strength being working and playing off other actors.
