The globe project and the start of year 2

 

September 9th

today was our first fully day back at collage, Last week we  met the first years and there only 15 of them ! but they are all such a lovely group. For our first day we played some games to break the ice like ninja and started with some improvisation like what are you doing and yes lest. We then did a massive improvisation scene where a shop was getting rob and learn how not to block people. Finally we started on the Globe project, we got put into groups and our group are researching Bonnie and Clyde but we have more of a full on Wednesday.

September 10th

Today we started with the first half of our morning doing some independent learning so I did Mondays Blogger and start to look at monologue and more University's, I found one monologue but I don't think I will use it because it does not really match with me. Then we had Kelly for the second half of the morning and she talked to us about the level 4 course because its a course we can take if we are not ready to leave to University. She also talked about why its not good to take a gap year or going to fine work for ourselves. After that we got put into groups and shown each other our list of UNI that we look at and liked and also started playing Trips to open days.

September 11th

Today  we had a full day at collage. we started off in the morning with Creating our own villains so we got up into groups and we had to make a villain out off everyone's favoured village in the Group. we had a mix of the joker ,Harley quin ,Andry 2 ,Billy (Ghostface) and finally Ultron. we then mix them up to create a new villain then we had to mix with the other groups and have a villain meeting on how we would take down the collage. After that we spent the time before and after lunch working on the Villains that are going to be in the show and we had to go to the groups and choose what group do we want to audition for. Me and Beth have teamed up ready and we are both going for Bonnie and Clyde. To round of the day we did some dancing with Abbie.

September 12th

 Today we have 4 lesson on Thursday. The first is with tom and we started to learn about Shakespeare and was helping us trying to find a monologue. my first look is Julie Cesar but I'm a little unsure but I'm working on it. Then we went over to Kelly and for the next 2 lessons we learnt about screen and acting on screen. we learnt different camera angles and had a quiz on them then got put into groups to do some work next week. finally we went back to tom to do some singing and we start learning at the end of the day from le Miz

September 16th

Today we had Kelly in the theatre, we started with some warm up like play chicken in a hut and cat and mouse and even did our first Vocal warm up of the year. After that we where all given a tough twister to learn and teach to the rest of the class, we had "The Big Black Bug Bit The Big Black Bear And The Big Black Bear Bled Blue Black Blood" and after a couple of attempts it really easy to get the hang off. After lesson i went into the LRC and did some work.

September 17th

Today we had our independent study day so I carried on working on the bonnie and Clyde PowerPoint which is now done. I am also in a group of me ,Ben ,Noah ,Kieran and Erin to make a warm up morning for one of the lesson next week, Then we went to lesson with Kelly for the rest of the morning to start our next assessment which is about duologs. So I partnered up with Scarlet and we are doing a scene from dear Evan Hanson. Its a really good scene and I love it but I need to-do some character research into the play before I can perform it probably. To finish things off i stayed back and found a Shakespeare monologue that I love from Othello. 

September 18th

Today we had a full day at collage, we started the morning by playing some Mafia Boss and some Wah. We then played a game about concentration with Abbie and we would haft to stand up then say at "I I Captain locker number ( whatever number you where) to locker number 3 for example at the same time and pass it on to someone else in the line   Then we got into the groups of the roles that we wanted to go for by a sticky note  with its name on it and we also would get to see who else was going for that role. we then did some ideas around an image of where Kelly thinks That scene will be based. We came up with some really good ideas and we where also given the audition material. To rounds things off we had a dance lesson with Abbie and we did some theory as well.

September 19th

Today we started of the day with Tom and he sent us to go do some research with our Shakespeare monologue so I have wrote scene by scene the tops notes of Othello. Its really helped because the whole plot is now really in my head and I can understand what is going on to a deeper level. We then had Kelly who told us to get into groups of 4 and we where going to direct a scene just for fun. I was an actor as I don't really have good skills to direct but Lola and Beth did a really good job. On the Afternoon we had the full class together and we started our first day of Pinocchio. we sang 2 songs. the first being when you wish upon a star and the other being Toys both really good songs.

September 23rd

Today we started with rehearsals for our ghost light tour auditions which are on Wednesday. Me and Beth are very confident with our piece and I think its going to go really well. we also starting learning how to move as one again, its very important for us to-do that so we can make the globe piece a lot more scary. Finally i finished my first draft of my personal statement.   

September 24th

Today we had inderpenant study on the morning and i still carried on looking at UNI, but on the second half of the morning Kelly talked to us about personal statement and how it should be structed and what information should go where. so i rewrite my person statement as there where a few things wrong but i got it done and even did some Shakespeare work.

September 25th

Today was our audition day for the Ghost Light tour, Sadly my bonnie Beth was not in so i had to partner up with a first year named Hannah and do it with her. For the time that we had it was really good and we both had work on our voice for the role which was the key part. I also did a Macbeth audition with Lily and that went really well like really really well.

September 26th

Today we had a workshop with LAMDA in the morning, it was really good getting to work the some of the teacher and ex students ( big up Trevor). on the afternoon we did more singing with tom and we started plotting Toys, I play Geppetto during this number hopefully we can work on it next week. 

September 30th

Today we started of with some cat and mouse to start our warm up and play some Mafia boss. We started by working on our villains with this task of telling a story that was true but putting a lie into it to throw people off. Our group did the really weird story about Kieran and how he gave Kelly some lettus ( true story by the way ) and after that we did a scene from CLUE which was a lot of fun to play. 

October 1st

Today we started of with independent study, me and Scarlet work on our dear Evan Hanson duologs. We really got it nailed now because we have it stage to the pint where you can see throw the movement how Evan mom start off with the power and then its switch so by the end Evan has the power. After that We had Kelly and she told us about some Units we need to do. I had my tutorial with Kelly and that went really well. 

October 2nd

Today Kelly gave us our first read through of the globe piece. After reading I decided I want to go for one of the tour guides who was a role that was newly added, they are this person who can see ghost and I thought it was my best option. I really got into character and I think I did a good job its just crossing finger now.

October 3rd

Today was York Dungeon day! been waiting for it all week for this trip and it was such a good one. The dungeon was amazing and the whole set and character where amazing. its gave us all so many ideas. We spent the rest of the day is York and me ,will and Kieran ran around shop and castle in Viking hats. When we got back I help Kelly with her opening evening.

October 7th

Today we started off with some new games and some physical warm ups with a new games like the ship game where you got to run from either side of the room and back and Bomber ,spitfire and jets which is a long game, I then spent the rest of the day doing my finally audition for the role of the Mistic. I think I did not get it right because i played the character more creepy when Kelly wanted it a bit crazy. I then carried on working on my monologue's.

October 8th

Today i did some inderpented study, Me and Charlie started of with some Shakespeare work before me and Scarlet decide to work on our dear Evan Hanson pieces, we where in line for Kelly to look at our piece but sadly she ran out of time so we can show her next week

Wednesday 9th

Today we started of by playing games as Kelly was telling everyone there roles. I found out that i got Bill sykes on the first night and the second night playing the Dentist. I think this Role is good for me because it less stress and i can focus more on Uni stuff for the rest of the term. I am working with Imogen who going to be my Nancey and i mainly worked on Him for the rest of the day with her.

Thursday 10th

Today we had Tom on the morning and he help me redirect my Shakespeare monologue which was so helpful because now i understand the text better and I understand the emotion journey of the character a lot better now. After that we had Kelly and she went through more acting for screen with us and i partnered up with Charlie more on that next week. on the afternoon I did 1 hour of globe work then did 1 hour of singing with Tom.

Monday 14th

Today we started of with some warm by doing some memories games and we move quickly on to ghost light. I mainly spent the day working on dentist as I had not done a lot of work on him yet so it was great to really perfect his character. Then on the afternoon i started to work on some Monologues.

Tuesday 15th

Today we started of by playing some WAW before moving straight on with the globe piece. I had a little rehearsal with Imogen who is playing Nancy before the cast 1 run through of the show. We did a really good job people loved both our acting and we both had good character presents. We need to work on the flow of the piece however as it is a little choppy in places but nothing bad just little fix up. Everyone did such a good job as well and I am proud of them. On the afternoon we had our showcase rehearsal and that was really good.

Wednesday 16th

Today was APTA showcase day and we showed MT our song from Pinocchio  that we have been working on. they should of lot more then  us because they have spent the full term working for this little showing. On the afternoon we went on a trip to go see Heathers and it was really good I enjoyed it.

Thursday 17th

Today we had Tom this morning and he help me with one of my monologues. Then moving onto Kelly and we did some more directing with a scene about an awarked first date whitch was really fun as i worked with Jack Pavey and Keiran and Erin. On the afternoon we did an hour of ghoust light with cast 2. My performance of the dentist was really good I've just got to work on the voice a little more then i think ive got it. After that Tom went through some of the audition piece for Pinocchio for the villain which is fun

Monday 21st

Today was our Tech day for our Globe piece at the Globe. It was a little bit of a slow day but I started off the day with a tour around the globe and went into my space where bill sykes will be performed in and me and Imogen got to get used to our space. It was really good to be in the space and have everything planned out. For the rest of the day as the second tour around the building was happening i went over lines for both dentist and Bill sykes.

Tuesday 22nd

Today is our first show day. We got in and My group  started our warm up but we need to finish it another time as we needed to crack on. We started today by doing the end so it was completed before make up calls. I got to rehearsals in my space before my make up call so i was full ready. The make was amazing the make up artiest gave me a side burn which looked really good. The performance it self went good the first show could of been a lot better and the second show was better when I got the swing of things. 

Wednesday 23rd

Today was our second show day, I started off by getting my make up call and getting ready to move into my space. I had to wait a little while as there was a meeting in the 1935 Bar, When i got in i had a little play around with what i could do in that space. The show was really good i love play the dentist. It has been one of my favourite roles so far and with that the Ghost light tour has come to an end
